How to prepare for an online event

The Lyconet Online Sensation is just a few moments away. Here is an essential checklist that could help you prepare to get the most out of an online event.

Treat online events as in-person events

When attending an online event from the comfort of your home, it is easy to get distracted.  Schedule ahead and block your calendar to fully engage with all the information provided during the event. Ensure you give people a heads up that you will be busy, and then set up a designated space for yourself free from distractions. This will help you to be fully present at the event as if you were there.

With the Lyconet Online Sensation coming up very soon, we don´t want you to miss it. Get prepared and simply click here to automatically add it to your calendar: http://bit.ly/ical_online_sensation21

    Connect with other attendees

Nowadays, we can connect and network with like-minded people, even at online events. There are plenty of opportunities to connect with other attendees, and it might even be more comfortable than doing it in person. With social media at our fingertips, we have unlimited possibilities when it comes to connecting. Join our Facebook Event here to engage with other attendees and discuss your common interests.

We love to see you succeed, and we provide all the tools you will need to do exactly that. For our Lyconet Online Sensation, we have created #lycosensation throughout social media so you can easily connect with other attendees no matter where you are in the world. Tag us, use our hashtag and take advantage of our online community.

    Check your tools

The importance of the right technology when attending online events must be taken into consideration.  Therefore, you should take some minutes before the start and check these important steps:

    • Make sure your device is fully charged, connected to high-speed internet.
    • We do not recommend the use of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Instead, use Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari.
    • In case your live stream is slowed down, you can choose a lower transmission quality. Click on the button in the control panel of the video player and select the appropriate quality for your device.
    • Check your browser settings to ensure that pop-up and/or ad blockers are not preventing the stream from being played.

We highly recommend opening the event link, which you will receive via email 15-30 minutes before the Lyconet Online Sensation starts so that you have enough time to check the above-mentioned suggestions and not miss the first highlight event of 2021.

Hopefully, this provides you with a good insight into preparing for your next virtual event. So why not be part of our Lyconet Online Sensation on the 30th of January 2021 at 5 PM (CET).
