Do you ever wonder what the future will be like for your children and grandchildren? Do you think about how you can give them everything they need for a successful life? When you do, what exactly do you think about? The best education? The right mindset? A good financial background? What value do you place on an intact environment that allows them to live healthy lives and develop their full potential? If you ask us, this is the foundation on which everything else is built. But if we want future generations to live on a planet that sustains them and allows them to flourish, we have to take action now! Otherwise it will be too late, and our descendants will have to pay the price. Do you think we’re exaggerating?
In the past few weeks alone, not just one but two studies have been published that prove that we must start putting our environment centre stage. In mid-April, tropical conservation scientist Andrew Plumptre and his fellow colleagues published the results of their latest research on the proportion of ecologically pristine land areas with intact wildlife and revealed a sobering picture: Only 2 to 3 percent of all ecosystems show no damage and can be considered “intact”. This outcome is much worse than those of previous studies, which assumed that between 20% and 40% of the Earth’s surface could still be classified as wilderness. Only a few days later, the alarming report on the state of the Amazon rainforest, the “green lungs” of our planet, made headlines worldwide. Researchers compared the amount of CO2 it has absorbed in the last decade with that of carbon dioxide released by slash-and-burn agriculture and destruction. The result? The Amazon has tipped and is now a net emitter, releasing 20% more CO2 in the last decade than it was able to absorb.
Environmental protection as a business strategy
These are just two examples of many that clearly show us that the time to act has come! As a Lyconet Marketer, you have the freedom to decide what role sustainability and environmental protection should play in your business. Take this opportunity, be a role model and lead the way! When you put our environment at the centre of everything you do, you encourage others to do the same. And that’s what our world needs now. Make sustainability part of your business strategy, educate, support the work of environmental organisations like the Greenfinity Foundation and help create a livable future for generations to come. A pleasant side effect is that your business will also benefit! How? By simply focusing on the protection of our environment, you will also attract people who are just as passionate about our planet’s future as you are!
